long overdue update....

finally here is a post....haha...

after all the hassle I have finally got my new computer....2 weeks ago.

Finished placements a month ago...

found a new job 2 weeks ago,so I am currently working as a personal care worker for a nursing agency..

or as my family fondly called it the 'maid' agency...

with this new job I have been running around to take care of old people which is quite tiring as I have no car and have to rely on public transport. fortunately the system is quite reliable so far no trouble.I think this is so far the most ideal job I have gotten for the time i anm here in aus. Convenient for me to help me get all the exercise i want and to apply what I have learn from uni into practice.....kinda like placements except i get paid for it...

One thing i have noticed is that I don't know how to write normal sentences anymore it now look more like a nursing notes rather than a proper blog post that i usedto write.

But anyhow that is enough of the boring bit....

do you think i will still have the 'look' when i am 90 years old?...that is if i live till that age....

Also I would like to congratulate my sis for finishing High School...finally...it's abt time *joking*

it was a three course meal dinner and free flow of alcohol was included...champagne, red, white and beer

i look drunk....lol

but anyhow...

will be coming back to Malaysia on the 5th of Dec instead of 22nd of Nov.

must be nice in Malaysia right..at least you can light up lanterns and nobody look at you like a freak...lol
but no complain here.
Still computer-less at the moment...
so there won;t be much update till I get the new PC....

but anyhow learn heaps this placment...touching stories that i have encountered...

of trams and buses

2 weeks has passed without any incident....
Life is mainly surround by endless trip on busses and trams to my placement venue.

One more week till my placement ends....
after this would be 6 weeks of lecture free, assignment free time.

anyway..wen ching here's my update,..lol

Last week of class has passed and now I am just waiting for my placement.
I am going to a place call berwick this time, will be in a hospital setting ...
I hope I get to learn a lot this time too...

Last placement was good.
At first i thought it will be boring as I have already done a similiar placement before...
But apparently I am so wrong...
It was a nursing home located in Caulfield...
the first day was crap because i have to get up like 5 am in a winter morning...
so it wasn't a really pleasant experience.

But then as the days passed, I get to know my coursemates better...
the nurses in the Nursing home teached me alot.
i get see the really warming side of doing nursing in a nursing home
where the nurse knows what is happening in their client's life....
asking questions like: How is Joe recently? Did he win the footy match last weekend?
what about sarah?...
In this instance, you will see that the client's eyes light up....as if they are all young again.
They talk and talk about their family and past events....and i have to tell you... i am surprised by their ability to talkl because whenever I am with them...they doesn't seem to response..
It's depressing at first but then i started learning to communicate with them...

I would like say .... old people are so cute...
although not the washing them up bit...but I would guess they wouldn't like it either...
so I have to make sure that both of us as comfortable as possible...
I later find out that all i have to do is try to act as normal as possible
Taklking about the weather and tellihng them the recent events is really enjoyable.
because come to think of it...
we as carer/nurses are the only connection they have to the outside world...
if we don't tell them what happen...who will?

but anyway...
some bad news...My laptop is dead...now trying to fix up my laptop and i hope it won't be really expensive.

Placement will be hell but i hope i get through it perfectly...am a bit worry about it cos i heard that they ask you alot of question....

I may go back to malaysia a bit late this time....currently I am only confirmed on a January 8th flight...which means I will be spending christmas her in Melbourne....
I hope I get an earlier flight out...
but then I am going to spend CNY in M'sia.....yay!!!!
hahaha

A night to remember

Went to George's Company annual ball last friday...

Looking forward to that day for the whole 3 weeks ...i think....

it seems so long ago...

but then that wasn't the point....

point is .... this is my first ever ball or prom....

so that's why i am so excited abt it.

That night started off with a really serious traffic jam in the city

and it was raining that night as well...so it was freezing ....*brrr*

we were 1 hour late and missed the entree.

Got to meet a few of George's colleagues....

Luckily i have met some beforehand...if not it will really awkward

The night was fun....and time pass quickly with dancing , eating, chatting, drinking....

she is the same age as me...but she is working in a big company....

7am...
woke up...lazily peel myself from my warm warm bed to the bathroom....

8am...
on the way to uni.
between 8am and 9am...i am just dozing off with headphones playing mp3.

9am-5pm
lecture...tutorial...group discussion...
all the boring things that you need to do to get yourself some great marks in uni....

why 5pm? hehe...this is where the fun part comes in

on that day itself....we all planned to have dinner together..a peking duck dinner...

Well....

all the singaporeans in our group insist that the restaurant we are going to try out is the best Melbourne has to offer

as usual I don't believe them...*kidding*

but that wasn't the main reason why we are having dinner together...
Pei Ling is leaving melbourne really soon...as in this saturday.
So this is a farewell dinner for her.(part 1)
but before that I have to stay in uni to wait for them...

why?
because I finish my class at 2pm...they finish their class at 5pm....I know kinda crazy to make that decision.. a 2 hour law lecture..

so I made a decision that I would attend the lecture with them as well


everyone was really concentrating except wen *rofl*

however...

30 mins into the lecture...look what happen...
usually selene would the most hardworking one out of all of us...

Slumber party!!!!!

winter has been here for a while...and the best thing in winter is that
it is the nicest season to have steam boat.....

last saturday a whole bunch of my uni classmates came to my apartment to have a slumber steamboat party...
to celebrate the start of uni, wen's birthday and Pei ling's Farewell....

preparation goes on from 3pm in the afternoon till 7pm...
phew lots of work but lots of fun ^_^
especially with a whole bunch of them around....
the noise level goes from 0 to like 40 hahaha....

erm...in case you are wondering...we are eating cherries

they concentrate so hard that they dun even notice what we did...lol

After, George left...
we went wild

We played charades and it was real fun...look at all their faces lol...

of course charades would not be fun if there is no penalties.....

after the charades which took place for hours before we decide to do something else...

Play acting..ok we are pretty bored then..

Truth or Dare...the funny thing is we know each other's life pretty much

that we dun really have anything to ask....

plus we only allow to chose the truth and not the dare

which in later part of the game we even provide each of us to have an option to ask question or being asked by the others when it's our turn...

we had a really nice time....

as you can see...by that time most of us have reach the limit of staying awake...

at the end of the night only 2 manage to not sleep for the whole night...

which i am not one of them...i only manage to get 1 and alf hours of sleep

well you must have though that since we slept so late that night..we won't be waking up real early the next morning....

i am sorry you are wrong....all of them went home before 9 am...by 10am my house is all cleaned up and back to the normal state...

this is what we called the spirit of nursing...*lame*
